Estate: The winery is located in Strassoldo, a striking fortified village from the feudal age between Palmanova and Aquileia. The head office is based in an eighteenth-century historical Villa shrouded in its age-old park crossed by a long magnolia path that unwinds through the vineyards until it disappears in the distance. During the last years the whole vineyard area has been replanted with modern training systems.

Our family business was started as a wine trading enterprise in the Freeport of Trieste in the early XX century. It was love that pushed my great grandfather Romano Vitas to buy the Strassoldo estate in 1937; it was passion that made him focus his patience and skill to vineyard restructuring.

We are deeply rooted in a long family tradition. And in the same solid ethics that contributed to strengthening our reputation. Every day we look at the future in the eyes: when it comes to making decisions we always follow our heart and when it comes to planning for the future we constantly focus on the respect for the environment and for natural resources. Every day we strive to produce wines that best represent our land and its heritage, that reflect their varietal origin in its broadest possible sense, meaning not only the signature characteristics of the grape, but also the environmental, human and cultural combination that gives our wine region its distinctive appeal.

Tasting Notes: Accurate wine making process ‘in white’. Soft pressing followed by a 24 hours juice cold settling at 9°C. Alcoholic fermentation at 18°C. The wine is aged until bottling in stainless steel tanks with weekly lees stirring. Straw yellow. Fresh and floral bouquet. Its pleasant freshness and its fruity notes of green apple are enhanced by its characteristic acidity. An ideal aperitif and a perfect matching with lean appetizers, delicate soups, salty fish and white meat dishes.
