The philosophy of wine-making for Podernuovo a Palazzone is to produce elegant yet simple wines that show Tuscan style and values. For owner Giovanni Bulgari, developing wines means the continued tradition of excellence and a commitment to uncompromising quality which is what the Bulgari family name stands for and part of his DNA. As the name suggests, this wine wants to evoke the true flavors of the Tuscan soils. Therra is Podernuovo's core wine.

The training system used is spurred cordon. The soil is clayey, chalky, sandy and pebbly. Harvest took place the first half of September. Maceration on the skins for 20 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel basins at controlled temperature, malolactic fermentation in barriques, ageing in 225 liter barriques for 12 months and 4 months on cement vats. Ageing for 12 months in bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Therra 2012 has a ruby red color with dark purple and almost black hues. Hints of wild berries, black fruits, cocoa, leather, toasty, mint, freshly cut wood. The taste is spicy with balsamic notes, hot and strong, the end is dry and clean.
