The 13 hectares of vineyards are divided over the hills of the town of Monforte and Roddino, at a height of about 490 m. The parcels are divided into vineyards, large or small. Each vineyard has its own specific characteristics: name, often in Piedmontese dialect that may indicate the township, a previous owner or refer to the location, year of planting, planted grape variety, altitude, exposure or terroir. Each vineyard has his own quality thanks to its characteristics and ripe fruits.
2012 La Torricella Barolo is a pleasant, elegant and very well balanced wine made from a vineyard planted in 1997. This wine opens with beautiful floral aromas, leather and dried fruits. On the palate there are notes of dark cherries, orange peel and notes of grenadine with very soft tannins.
This is medium to full body wine but not rich or jammy at all, it is traditional and elegant. Definitely the best pairing for dishes with truffles, duck confit, game, red meat and strong cheeses.
