In 2012, young and energetic winemaker Anthony Girard launched his own production after working for the family estate. From Sancerre and attached to his origins, Girard set up in Récy, a hamlet south of the appellation and works 8.5hectares on great terroirs.
Two thirds of these are composed of ''caillottes'' (limestone Sancerre), bringing freshness and fruity wine and flint for power and minerality.
Anthony leads the rigorous field work in the vineyard in accordance with the soil and the environment in order to harvest the grapes that are mature, ripened fruit.
Very precise in the winery, winemaking is masterfully done and can express Sauvignons with great aromatic purity and a remarkable balance.
Sancerre, the most famous vineyards of the Loire Valley has built its worldwide reputation from its unique soils of limestone, clay and flint, and by its unique grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc for whites and Pinot Noir for the reds and rosés.
Very fresh red fruit aromas and elegant structure with nuances of cherries and ripe fruit. A pork loin, roasted red meat, or a Brie de Meaux will pair nicely.
