is currently backordered. You may still purchase it now but we won't be able to ship it until it becomes available again.
Region : Burgundy
Appellation : Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
Vintage : 2012
Varietal : Chardonnay
Estate : This family estate is extremely old. A wine-taster from 1765 on which the family name appears is carefully kept from generation to generation.
After Robert, Roland , and now Vincent and Sylvette are hard at work managing the estate.
The Estate comprises 20 hectares of vines in the villages of Pernand - Vergelesses, Savigny les Beaune, Aloxe Corton and Beaune.
Located between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, the Pernand – Vergelesses vineyard, tucked away in the green surroundings of a quiet valley, begins at the foot of Corton hill.
It’s the only vineyard to offer the whole range of vintages, in both white and red wines.
Tasting Notes : The Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne evokes history. Corton is a composite meaning "Othon's Court". In medieval Latin cortis designated the courtyard and it was used in the same way as the gallo-Roman villa, indicating a property belonging to a member of the Frankisk nobility.
The Corton-Charlemagne bear the mark of their flinty terroir, due to the geological composition of the soil.
This wine is full-bodied with a beautiful golden glimmer, revealing an aromatic richness of honey and toasted almonds with an exquisite mineral touch.
