Varieties: 95% Mourvèdre, 5% Grenache
Estate: Located between the village of La Cadière d’Azur and Saint-Cyr- sur-Mer, the Vannières castle is exposed south-west and preserved to the north by the Sainte Baume massif. In 1957, Lucien Boudot, wine- maker in Beaujolais and Rhone Valley, acquired this Domaine which has 33 hectares in production. Eric Boisseaux (his grandson), is work- ing to evolve the style of Château Vannières, combining it with the expertise of modern oenology, while respecting the originality of the terroir and the grape varieties . e soil, composed of marls and lime- stones, gives ne tannins, powerful and complex bouquets.
Tasting Notes: Shiny dress, salmon pink with pale re ections. It has a nose con- sisting of hawthorn notes and white owers and develops on very subtle toasted notes that are barely perceptible. e Patience de Van- nières has a mouth marked by a great sweetness, its texture gives an exceptional length and demonstrates the exceptional quality of Rose of Bandol of great guard. He will call meals made of red mullet, a carpaccio of langoustines or white meats spiced up.
