Chateau le Puy - Cotes de Bordeaux - Emilien - 2011
is currently backordered. You may still purchase it now but we won't be able to ship it until it becomes available again.
Appellation: Côtes de Francs
Varieties: 85% Merlot, 7% cabernet franc, 6% cabernet sauvignon, 1% malbec and 1% carménère
Estate: Château le Puy is located on the same rocky plateau as Saint Emilion and Pomerol and is perched 360 feet above sea level overlooking the magnificent Dordogne Valley.
The Amoreau family has been living and working in the estate since 1610, each generation bringing another dimension to Château le Puy. The driving force behind this family of winemakers throughout the centuries remains the love for wine and passing the knowledge to the next generation. Today, Jean-Pierre Amoreau and his son Pascal are the winemakers and oenologists of this incredible estate.
For centuries the same biodynamic methods have been used in the vineyard: No chemicals, fertilizers, herbicides,
insecticides, pesticides, yeasting or chaptalization.
Tasting Notes: A bright red colour tending towards cherry red. Aromas of red berries, tending rapidly towards raspberry. In the mouth it is full and rich with very expressive tannins. Long and fresh final notes. This is a powerful wine with a lot of elegance, which is only now gently starting to open.
